Description
Walbro fuel pump kits are designed to deliver the fuel volume your engine needs to support reliable performance, whether you're maintaining a stock vehicle or building a high-horsepower setup. Each kit typically includes the fuel pump along with installation components such as wiring, strainers, and mounting hardware for a straightforward upgrade.
Choosing the Right Fuel Pump
Fuel pump flow is measured in liters per hour (LPH). In general, higher horsepower engines require more fuel flow.
190 LPH – Ideal for stock vehicles and mild bolt-on modifications. Supports most naturally aspirated street applications.
255 LPH – The most popular upgrade for turbocharged and supercharged vehicles. Suitable for moderate performance builds and many applications up to approximately 500 horsepower.
340–350 LPH – Designed for high-performance street and track vehicles with larger injectors, increased boost, or E85-compatible fuel systems.
450–525 LPH – Best suited for serious performance builds, forced induction applications, and high-horsepower engines that demand substantial fuel volume.
Which Walbro Fuel Pump Kit Is Right for You?
If you're replacing a factory pump on a mostly stock vehicle, a 190 or 255 LPH pump is often sufficient. For modified turbocharged, supercharged, or E85-powered vehicles, consider a 340+ LPH pump. High-horsepower builds targeting 700+ horsepower typically require a 450 LPH or larger fuel pump, depending on fuel type and engine configuration.
Note: Actual horsepower support varies based on fuel type, fuel pressure, injector size, and engine efficiency. Always consult your tuner or builder when selecting a fuel pump for a performance application.
This version educates customers without locking you into exact horsepower claims that can vary significantly between gasoline, E85, boost levels, and drivetrain configurations.
