We immediately did a spot check of the alignment settings, then took the front suspension apart, started making chassis and strut measurements, and looked at an all new camber plate solution. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eAnd not too surprisingly, we found a lot more camber that was being left on the table by the other solutions out there - mostly due to shortcuts to make a cheaper camber plate design. Where the other guys are lucky to get your Porsche -3.0 degrees of camber on the OEM suspension with their top mounts, the Vorshlag design allows for up to -4.0 degrees of front camber with stock springs, stock struts and unaltered ride height. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Vorshlag-Test-Pilots\/2018-Porsche-718-Cayman-Safeplace\/i-jj3fBVW\/0\/LFCfx7QSvjz2JZ3b3xhB9cSW5vhP4KwFGdL4cWPMf\/M\/IMG_9562-M.jpg\" alt=\"Camber adjusted max\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn May of 2024, we had the prototype part completed for the OEM style spring, and in early August 2024 Safeplace was finally able to do some follow-up track testing at both Eagles Canyon Raceway and Motorsport Ranch Cresson. At ECR with the only change being the camber plates and new alignment the car dropped a full 3 seconds from its previous best lap there! The large sealed radial bearing allows the spring perch to rotate instead of relying on the spherical to spin within the bearing holder (which would wear it out quickly - like most competing designs).
