Description
The SPL Rear Traction Arms provide the necessary adjustability to the anti-squat to improve mechanical grip and adjust the rear kinematics to suit your build. Larger PTFE-lined, F1-fit FK USA spherical bushings provide the benefits of the OEM spherical with longer life due to the increased surface area of the bearing. The kit allows for a deeper customization of the suspension geometry to better suit your driving preferences and adapt to changes in tracks, aero loading, tires, and more.
Technical
Anti-Geometry Adjustment
Fine Tune the Chassis Response Under Hard Braking or Acceleration
The provided spacers allow for fine tuning of the anti-squat geometry. The more anti-squat (expressed as a %) a car has the less the rear suspension will squat under acceleration. This geometry's effect is more pronounced in lower gears and higher rates of acceleration. Additional anti-squat can prevent bumpsteer on corner exit and improve corner exit acceleration as well as peak tire grip available under hard acceleration. Certain road surfaces and setups may benefit from running slightly less anti-squat, so we've left it adjustable in small increments.
Rear Kinematic Adjustments
Set the Fine Details on Rear Suspension Behavior
Adjusting the rear camber via the lower control arm also changes the angle of the rear traction arm, causing the kinematics to change. The SPL arms allow you to properly shorten or elongate the traction arm to bring the kinematics back inline with OEM behavior, or make adjustments to promote additional stability or rotation depending on your preferred dynamics behavior. This can be especially useful for eliminating unwanted tire scrub and negative dynamic behaviors with the use of substantial aerodynamic load, meaning you'll gain more speed on the longer straights and have less tire heating due to aero induced bumpsteer.
Rear Wheel Location Adaptability
Move the Location of the Rear Wheel
For setups that are prioritizing rear tire size, the adjustable rear traction arm allows for the wheel to be moved longitudinally to improve clearance between the body and tire.
