Description
Product overview
The CSF 8343 adds a dedicated dual engine-oil cooling system to the FL5 Honda Civic Type R. Two oil coolers mount at the sides of the front bumper, with dedicated inlet and outlet venting to provide an airflow path through the cores.
This component transfers heat from the engine-oil circuit. Oil-line routing, clean fittings, adequate airflow, and correct refill and bleeding procedures are important to the completed installation.
Technical features
- Two CSF 8119 dual-pass bar-and-plate oil coolers
- TIG-welded cooler construction tested at 120 psi
- AN oil lines with DYME PSI quick-release fittings
- Billet sandwich plate with a 175–195°F thermostat specification and a 1/8 NPT oil-temperature sensor provision
- Pre-preg carbon-fiber bumper vents and louvered fender-liner vents
- Replacement washer-fluid bottle compatible with the factory washer motor
- Brackets, hardware, installation instructions, and templates
Installation and compatibility
Install the kit as a complete cooling and airflow system. Follow the templates and instructions for vent openings, hose routing, and mounting. Confirm oil level after filling and circulating the system, accounting for the additional cooler and line volume. This FL5 vent package must not be assumed to fit a DE5 without a different venting arrangement.
- FL5: Installation of this kit requires modifications such as cutting/trimming the front bumper, fender liners, brake ducts, and installing rivet nuts on the crash beam rails.
- DE5: Installation of this kit would require modifications such as cutting/trimming the factory bumper side grills, fender liners, brake ducts, installing rivet nuts on the crash beam rails. The CSF Bumper Vents are not designed for the DE5 and would require modifications to the factory front bumper side inserts for proper airflow to the coolers.
