Description
The AWE Performance Intercoolers upgrade for Porsche 997.2TT improves charge-air cooling, helping manage the heat added by forced induction before the air reaches the engine.
Engineering and operation
In addition to the superior core and end tank design, the AWE Porsche 997.2TT Performance Intercooler kit also features 6-ply silicone hoses with gentle curves to prevent bursting under pressure.
In contrast to the stock cores, AWE Porsche 997.2TT Performance Intercoolers are a high flow bar and plate style and are built to AWE's charge row and fin count specs.
They are attached to the intake and turbos with stainless steel high force t-bolt clamps, and a molded lip is integrated where the hoses meet the turbos to imitate the factory locking mechanism.
Compatibility and installation
- Since an OEM option was not available, and AWE's power goals were well north of 700hp, AWE undertook the task to construct a completely new intercooler system.
