NOTE: Installation requires trimming or removal of factory duct piece (71336-T20-A00). Trimming/removal of this piece will not affect performance. The FL5 Civic Type R DOES NOT have a factory oil temperature sensor. The oil temperature readings given by the vehicle display are an inferred value and are no longer accurate once an oil cooler is added.

With the FL5 CTR's high-revving 2.0L turbocharged engine, extended hard driving can raise oil temperatures, risking performance and longevity. The Mishimoto Oil Cooler Kit for the Honda Civic Type R is designed to keep oil temps in check while increasing system capacity, giving enthusiasts the confidence to push their Type R harder and longer.
Our oil cooler kit increases total oil capacity by 12 percent over stock and features a 19-row bar-and-plate cooler strategically positioned to receive maximum airflow. This cooler is also thermostatic to help bring oil up to optimal temperature for daily driving, and testing showed 5 Degrees F cooler oil temperatures compared to stock.
Installation is straightforward with all direct-fit components included. Black nylon oil lines connect seamlessly, and our billet oil line separator aligns hoses cleanly while keeping them clear of belts. The horn is relocated using the existing horn bracket, ensuring wiring harness integrity and maintaining horn position. Velcro line sleeves are included to protect all critical routing points, and minimal trimming of a plastic trim piece is required to properly install the lines.
